Dazzboard supports native MTP playlists (.pla) and normal playlists (.m3u). Devices that support native MTP playlists have a 'Media transfer' mode (but the name can be different depending on your mobile phone). There are also many MP3 players that support MTP mode automatically. Media transfer mode is preferred.
Media transfer modesTo start using Dazzboard playlists you can edit your existing playlists or create new ones. To create a new playlist click the 'New playlist' button, give a name to the playlist and click 'Create'. Go to 'Music' to add songs to your list. You can easily add all albums from one artist or select individual songs (use ctrl or shift key to select multiple songs).
Note one: Some devices mess up the MTP (.pla) playlists when the USB cable is disconnected. You can see the playlist on the device, but when the device is re-connected to the PC, the device has removed all file references from the published playlist and Windows will only see an empty playlist even when the device sees all the files.
Note two: This happens with many different devices: If you create playlists on the device, it adds the songs only to an internal database and does not actually create a playlist file (.pla or .m3u). These playlists cannot be managed outside the device.
This also occurs when you create a M3U playlist and transfer it to an Android device. The device will see it, but if you add any extra songs to the list using the phone, they will be added only to an internal database and not the actual M3U playlist file. This means that next time you edit that playlist from somewhere else, you cannot see the songs that you have added using the phone.
Note three: Because Mac does not support MTP devices, you cannot manage any other kind of playlists than M3U. This limits the usage of some devices that support mass storage and MTP mode, but do not support M3U playlists. This means that we can create M3U playlists to that device on mass storage mode, but when you disconnect the device from your Mac and go to your phone's music player, you cannot see the playlist because the device does not support that playlist type.
